Adventure Cycling is located in Aurora, Colorado right on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Frank Barvik Senior and his family immigrated to the United States in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution. Frank Barvik Senior raced as a professional road cyclist in Hungary before immigrating to the United States. Upon arrival Frank Barvik Senior opened Denver’s first bike shop dedicated to professional level bike sales and service. This laid the foundation for Adventure Cycling which opened in 1982 as Aurora’s first professional bicycle shop specializing in road bike sales by Susan and Pete Schoenes along with brother John Barvik. Since 1982 Adventure Cycling has remained dedicated to offering professional bike sales and outstanding customer service.

I can't share enough how great this store is. John Barvik set my husband up with his first Road Bike 8 years ago and my husband has been racing ever since. We've bought all of our bikes through Adventure, their service can't be beat and their prices are competitive!

From the first day I went in years ago until now, every time you walk in they treat you like a friend. I, along with most people in the know, will not let any one else touch any of my 6 bikes. They are hands down the finest in a market that supports many good shops!!!!

John Barvik has years racing experience and as any aspring pro he knows how to build and tune bikes too. He is so enthusiastic about bikes that you can't help but get motivated about riding. He knows exactly what you need and has so many tips about caring for your bike that I learn something new every day I walk into the shop. His staff is very knowledgable and performs excellent work. I sent him my Colnago with 2007 campy groupo and this was by far the best pro-build I've ever experienced. Superb performance with every shift. The shop is the kind of place where you just want to hang out and share stories while your bike is being tuned up.

This is a small family run bike shop on the east side of Cherry Creek Reservoir that gives you the kind of personal attention that only this kind of a shop can. I started dealing with them over 20 years ago when the shop was owned by the father-in-law of one of the current owners. They've never tried to sell me something I didn't need or fix something that didn't need to be fixed. If I bring something in they'll check it out & if it doesn't need anything they'll tell me so.
