Arada is the local name for the neighborhood at the heart of Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. More generally, it means "downtown" in Amarhic. For hundreds of years a marketplace has thrived in Arada, called Arada Gebeya. This was one of the great markets of Africa, a place where a buyer could find Coffee, Elephant tusks and the finest spices from Harar.
At Arada restuarant, we bring a little of the real Arada to central Denver. We serve authentic ethiopian cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. We love bringing a taste of Ethiopia to the mile high city. Make a reservation today, and we'll be happy to tell you more about the real Arada. Or better yet, we'd be happy to give you a taste.

Arada simply has the best Ethiopian food! I've loved Ethiopian food ever since I was a child and every time this place really brings me back to that first time I ate Ethiopian food. The owner is incredibly sweet and offers wonderful service. She always goes out of her way to make the customer happy. This place is just great. I can't say enough good things about it.
I have eaten at most of the Ethiopian places in Denver, and Arada is always the best. I used to eat there when she was on East Colfax, and continue to go now that she is on Santa Fe.
