Their grandma's chocolate cake is the best chocolate cake I have ever tasted. I am a chocolate freak, and this is the most amazing cake, it is like a chocolate dream

I like going in there for a casual, delicious meal. What could be better than a place with a menu called "Things we like to eat"! And very yummy deserts, of course.

They may be competing for the best cake, but EVERY single thing is AMAZING - the plating is beautiful, the menu is veried, and their lemon tarts? Mmmmmmmm. And they have the most delicious desert liquors to go with any thing you order! It's good for my diet that I live so far away from this place!

Lisa was a pleasure to work with when it came to the design. The tasting was more than I could have asked for it was perfect and unexpected. Cakes came out so moist and delicious that I ordered a few more to devour.

My husband and I visit DBar as often as we can and absolutely love their menu. Their small, focused menu is exceptional...I love the BACT and Mac and Cheese! It is also quite awesome that you can sit at their bar and watch Chef Keegan prepare your dessert personally. Soooo cool!

D-Bar is a hidden gem among many mediocre pastry shops in Denver. Not only is everything they create delicious, but Keegan and Lisa are so friendly and personable. They are creating our wedding cake and they took the time to meet with us many times and let us adjust our wants and needs. They are talented and knowledgeable and nothing we've ever had from D-Bar has been a disappointment. I'm certain our wedding cake is going to be outstanding! We won't go anywhere else for our desserts!!

In a world of corporate, cookie-cutter and copy-cat restaurants, originality is hard to find. Whether it is a version of tuna tartare, your trendy cheese plate, mixed green salad with candied nuts and craisins or the ever-so-over served roasted half chicken with bland starch and faux pan drippings, new and uniquely delicious dishes are few and far between. Topping this mountain of restaurant boredom is your pre-programmed waitstaff and painted smile management team with headsets and walkie-talkies counting covers and seeing the guest as a transactional event, rather than a meaningful interaction of well timed service and genuine care. At Keegan’s and Lisa’s dbar you will not encounter these problems. There, you will be greeted as you walk in the door by Keegan himself as he prepares a dessert as it was meant to be prepared, by hand and from scratch for one of his guests -- a guest that might as well be sitting in his living room. You see, each plate means something to Keegan, Lisa and their team. Every item that is created from that kitchen, whether it is your personally brewed cup of coffee, perfectly caramelized Panini or seasonal dessert made from fresh and local ingredients, seems to be designed with care just for you. And do not get misled by the name. dbar does more than desserts!! Join them for a complete meal with an original wine list, and you will be dying to phone a friend, write a review or do whatever it takes to share your experience. Your experience will mean something to YOU, as well as the people creating it for YOU. When you are in the middle of it, you cannot help but feel that you are involved in something special. Keegan and Lisa could be running the kitchens of any 5-star hotel or restaurant in New York or Los Angeles. Instead, they want to be on 17th Avenue in Uptown Denver preparing things they like to eat to guests they like to serve. The love for great food and great service thrives at dbar. Visit, and you will be part of something special.

My fiancé and I are in D-Bars about once (ok, twice) a week as we are lucky enough to live on the same block. I totally agree with Corey and Brian ~ D-Bars is for individuals who can appreciate amazing food/desserts while being able to soak up the plethora of information you can learn if you LISTEN while you watch Lisa and Keegan work their magic - amazing. Denver is lucky to have such a talented duo in the area.
The lunch is also spectacular ~ the 'pizza salad sandwich' is my favorite. The coffees (even the decaf espresso) are wonderful!! The prices for the delicious desserts/food are extremely reasonable and almost too low (but I hope they stay that way!) for what you receive.
Going to D-Bars is an experience and FAR from your local Dairy Queen (in and out, with a sub-par product some might define as a 'dessert'). Keegan and Lisa are the nicest, most sincere and cordiale individuals and so are the patrons that they attract. I can't tell you how many great people we have met while sitting at the 'dessert' bar. Keegan (and sometimes Lisa when she is not in back making something delicious) talks with you as if you have been friends for years - about desserts, the Tour de France, opening the store in Denver, and much more. He seems to know and really appreciate each individual that walks through his front door, greeting them with a huge smile and excited 'Hello!'.
There is a reason that D-Bars is packed every time my fiancé and I look out our window, ride or run by, or walk in for that much needed cup of espresso, amazing bite of food, and a good laugh and great conversation with Keegan while we take in the laid back, up-scale ambiance of their new place. Well done Keegan and Lisa! Well done.
