Dougherty's should really be in the Neighborhood bar category... It's Irish themed but not in the way Snug or Rover are! It's one of the best places to get food and drinks in the Broadway Corridor. Great happy hours and great lunch specials!
I live in Atlanta and was visiting friends in Denver. We were looking for a casual, low-key place to hang out and unfortunately stumbled across Dougherty's. We ordered some beer at the bar and went to sit outside on the tiny patio. We were having a great time, and the waitress came outside and told us that we needed to take shots. We were confused, but agreed to take the shots that we assumed were "on the house." We have never been forced to take shots before, but the surrounding tables were encouraging us, so we gave in to the peer pressure. The manager of the bar and the waitress came out with a snow-ski with five shot glasses attached. We were then forced to take these disgusting shots of cheap liquor. Twenty minutes later the waitress came and asked us which tab she can charge the "shot-ski" to.... We were dumbfounded, and I ended up paying for shots that we didn't even want in the first place. I will never go to this place again because of this "shot-ski" scam!
