Iyengar Yoga Center

Category: Yoga Studio (39 listings)

For beginners and continuing students, the Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver teaches yoga for the whole person. We have three yoga studios, a staff that includes 12 certified Iyengar yoga teachers and over 150 combined years of teaching experience, and over 50 yoga classes per week.

Teachers in the Iyengar Yoga system continue to study with senior teachers on an on-going basis to refine the methods of teaching. They also study therapeutic techniques in order to help the students with problem areas. Becoming certified in the Iyengar system requires years of experience with a more rigorous certification process than other styles of Yoga. Teachers are committed to helping the students really learn Yoga, not just do it! Our teachers at the Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver have over 100 years combined experience to help you get the most out of Yoga!

At IYCD the instruction is detailed, individualized, challenging while very supportive. The practice of yoga in all it's fullness is shared and taught by experienced individuals truly living the path of yoga.

They do such a great job working with all types of people, from the very agile to the not so agile. Because it is Iyengar Hatha yoga, props are available and encouraged when poses are difficult or painful.

Atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Teachers are highly trained to work with all kinds of bodies and their enthusiasm and dedication are evident. Classes provide a good variety of experience to work with body, mind and spirit. There is a nice sense of community here.

I have studied yoga for 8 years in four cities and this is the best yoga experience I have had (and they were all very good). Great energy and awesome and safe instruction. Finally took my practice to the next level.

They teach you how to do yoga the right way instead of just letting you think you are doing it!

The instructors at Iyengar Yoga are very knowledgeable and spend time with each student individualizing a routine. They offer a wide range of classes for different abilities, including restorative and pre/post natal.

The instructors are the most knowledgeable I've ever experienced and are able to communicate the lessons well to their students.

I am truly grateful to understand that "heat" is to be derived and generated internally, rather than applied externally.
The Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver has a staff of overqualified teachers to help me learn how to create this heat, this "tapas."
I am grateful, too, that they are more patient with me than I am with myself!

They have very well trained instructors that have the ability to apply the yoga postures to all body types so that anyone can enjoy the benefits of yoga. The facility is very welcoming and they are centrally located.

A wonderful community of loving (and I would even say wise) people.
The yoga classes are without question the best (I've been around), and they have other events like gong baths and kirtan, too.

These folks know their stuff and deliver it with compassion and encouragement that inspires my spirit and helps me feel safe.
I never imagined I would feel THIS fulfilled, let alone work as deeply into the physical postures as I have.
