Living in Colorado can make me feel really deprived of new music. Lip Gloss brings fresh music from bands that matter and up and coming artists that are being played in California and New York clubs. Great atmosphere and fabulous crowd. Lip Gloss is to Denver what Popscene is to San Francisco.
Of the clubs mentioned here, I've enjoyed the Friday night scene at La Rumba. I hear Mike Trundle has more kids than all of us combined.. but that's not important. They play a great mix of stuff. And bring-in cool djs all the time.. a nice change the from the stupid lug-head stomp around town. Even though, some stupid people go here too... can't avoid them I suppose.
OK...I'm partial...I've DJed there myself and consider this club a step above the rest simply because of the great music they play every week. Britpop at it's very best!!
There isn't another place worth being on a Friday night. The drinks are cheap for a weekend and the music, while not always what I expect at a club, always makes us dance harder than anywhere else.
