MCA DENVER is a non-collecting institution acting as an incubator for art and ideas, artistic exchange and dialogue. MCA DENVER has five distinct galleries, three spaces for education, multiple sites for special projects/commissioned works and one live art and lecture hall, as potential sites for work in all media. Multiple single artist exhibits featuring regional, national, and international artists on view at MCA DENVER are on a staggered rotating schedule, offering an opportunity to see something new upon each return visit. As Denver’s first institution devoted entirely to contemporary art, MCA DENVER is housed in a new environmentally sustainable facility designed by David Adjaye.

I absolutely love contemporary art, and I am in museum studies and art history, and I find this "Museum" to be a total sham. It's the most pretentious space I have encountered in a long time, with the snobbiest of interpretation theories: no interpretation at all = fulfilling museum experience. The building is great but not so great for art, and I am underwhelmed at the quality and quantity of their exhibitions. If you want great contemporary art in a great, unpretentious setting, go to the DAM. Go on the free day, don't waste your money.

Thanks to a great staff, beautiful design, thoughtful and progressive curation and all around forward thinking, the MCA Denver is truly world class. Thanks to Cydney and all the MCA staff for helping evolve Denver's art scene and increase the quality of public dialogue.
