Original New York Pizza

Category: Pizza (85 listings)

Ralph and Carmela (both originally from Italy) along with their 3 children, have run this FANTASTIC hole in the wall authentic italian restaurant for the past 19 years. Located in the heart of Broomfield, Colorado it's not unusual to go in and see four generations of their growing family hard at work. Not only is their food outstanding, but they were voted "number one pizza" in 2008 thanks to all their loyal customers/friends support! Stop by and check this place out for yourselves! You get more than your moneys worth, and sometimes even a free "how to speak italian" lesson!!!

To all of our supporters!
My name is Raffaele and i love the fact that Channel 7 is giving all of the Front range community some good FREE publicity! I am the owner and founder of Original Pizza. With the help of my family, we took a big chance in the pizza world when we came to Beautiful Colorado in 1984. There were only a handful of real pizzerias here back in the day. I was the pizzaman in the North Valley Mall. I came from Brooklyn N.Y. with the idea to bring a good pizza, and some good italian food to this beautiful land. After 24 years i still see most of my old time costumers enjoing a good slice of pizza!

Carmela, my lovely wife, and my kids Alessandra, Daniela and Alberto still work in the pizzeria. Now my daugther in law Yvette, along with my two grandchildren joined our team!

We would like to thank all of our friends and customers that supported us during the 2008 voting season. We can't begin to describe how wonderful it felt when we got the call that we had won this competition "best pizza in Denver!" What an honor! Thank you Channel 7 for allowing us to be a part of your contest. You guys did a wonderful job! We hope to repeat our victory this year!

Ciao e buon appetito!
-Ralphie & Family
By the way... in my place si parla italiano!

I'm from Philadelphia and this is the closest I've found to my favorite pizza from back East. Yes, Amazing. Just try to Pepperoni Pizza-you will not be disappointed.

New York style pizza that you can't fold without it breaking? This is supposed to be the best in Colorado? I have a hard time believing anyone that states they "grew up in New York" and would vote this as the best pizza in Colorado. This isn't even the best pizza in Broomfield! Owner is extremely unprofessional, and the pizza was not good at all. My wife is Sicilian, grew up in Jersey, and we walked out with 3/4 of a pizza sitting on the table. It is just terrible. You want good pizza, go to Proto's!

Pizza was below average, at best. I happen to be a Red Sox fan, and walked in with my cap on. My impression is that the owner, Ralph (fits because that is what his pizza made me do), is not a very professional person. I was with my wife and 2 year old, and we waited 52 minutes. 52 MINUTES for a pizza with ONE OTHER TABLE seated in the place! A gentleman came in and ordered a take out, and he hadn't called it in prior. Another couple came in and sat down 20 minutes after we did, and they received their order. I understand Ralph is a Yankees fan (thought he grew up in Brooklyn, shouldn't he be a Dodgers fan and HATE the Yankees?), but without saying anything to me for simply wearing my Red Sox cap (which I removed when we sat down, as that is proper etiquette, even in a pizza joint), decided we didn't deserve respect and professional service. Fine, my wife and I can take it no problem, but to punish my 2 year old son? Please people, take the time to read this and avoid Original New York Pizza like the plague, especially if you are NOT a Yankees fan.

They were one of the worst pizza joints that we've been to in Colorado so far, definitely in Broomfield. The service was awful (we waited over 45 minutes for a pizza), and the fact that we had a small child with us did nothing for their bad attitude. Two other tables walked in well after us and were served before us.

I'm from NJ and have had NY style pizza most of my life. This pizza was far from NY style.

Wouldn't go there again if you paid me.
