Most of my music is written in my sleep as I recollect my thoughts and experiences from the past day or two of my life.
Hi, my name is James Egbert and I am Portrait of a Friend. This all started out in February of 2006 when I decided to start “drawring” childish portraits and writing catchy electronic music. I hid my identity and played the guessing game with my friends over MySpace. However, I didn’t realize at the time that this musical project would become something much more serious. In August of 2006, I decided to take the silly songs I wrote in my bedroom in a more serious direction and continued in finishing three more songs to complete my debut EP, “The Sounds Noone Wants You to Hear”, which was released in December of 2006.
