Protos first opened in 1999 when Pam Proto finally decided that in order to get true Neapolitan Pizza in Colorado, she would have to do it herself. Just before the first Protos opened in Longmont Colorado, she partnered with Rayme Rossello and they opened the doors. It was an overnight success. Apparently others in Colorado were waiting for good Za' as well. Pizza Lovers drove to the Longmont store from distant towns like Loveland, Parker, and Estes Park.

hands down, the best pizza in denver...that is, if you like thin crust and fresh toppings in a cool funky atmosphere. yummm!!

Proto's gets it right. I have read some of the comments on Original New York Pizza. People, pizza on the coast has a softer crust, so you can fold it. Original New York Pizza is the WORST in Colorado, and Proto's is simply amazing. If you want good pizza, come and taste this. It is worth it, and they know how to treat a customer right to keep coming back for more. Great job Proto's, you have a fan for life!

Proto's has it's roots in New Haven, Connecticut's famous Pepe's Pizza. If you want the best pizza outside of pepe's, you have to head to Proto's!
